Crathorne Class of 1907

The Village Street, 1908

This attractive group of children assembled for this photograph in 1908. At the end of the row of houses was the bricklayer's house; about 1905, 'Ma' Hutchinson ran a small shop there, and is remembered as being rather 'tight' - she would cut a sweet in half to ensure the children got no more than their due for their 1/2p pocket money! Look across the road from the Crathorne Arms and you will see how little the view has changed!
